HGV drivers are facing a 20 per cent increase on their operator disc fees this year.
When Tynwald sits later this month, members will consider raising fees charged by the Road Transport Licensing Committee, which oversees taxis, public passenger vehicles and heavy goods vehicles.
In its notes, the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says HGV fees were set artificially low in 2019.
And it adds the proposed 20 per cent rise from £75 to £90 from April would bring the payments in line with those charged to PPV operators.
