A council in Northern Ireland will write to the Manx government over changes to visa rules affecting its fishing crews.
A recent rule change means crew members with transit or UK Skilled Worker visas can't now fish in Manx waters.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has passed a motion saying it would write to the Island's government over the issue.
At a meeting this week, councillors there said banning overseas workers from the Philippines or Africa threatened thousands of jobs and potentially the area's fishing industry.
