20 fires have been caused by domestic appliances in the last seven years.
That's according to Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey who was quizzed by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse in the House of Keys this week.
Mr Moorhouse wanted to know how many residential fires began because of items such as tumble dryers and washing machines.
In response, Mr Malarkey revealed there were 13 fires caused by household items in 2010, and seven in 2017.
