2 arrested in drink drive clampdown

The police have reported that 2 people have been arrested and charged as a result of their seasonal Anti-Drink/Drive campaign.

In the first week over 150 people were stopped with police reporting the greater majority to be helpful and in full support of the initiative.

The campaign posters advertise the punishments in place for those caught over the legal limit, with a 12 month ban and a fine of up to £5000 a real possibilities.

You're urged to plan your nights out in advance, whether that be booking taxis in advance or having a designated driver.

The message from the police is to enjoy the festivities responsibly and not to become a statistic.
