A 17 year old male has been killed in a car incident in the early hours of this morning.
It happened at about ten minutes past midnight on the Foxdale Road near to its junction with Archallagan Plantation.
The collision involved a white Renault Clio 3 door hatchback, it was travelling towards The Braaid from the Eairy.
There were four other people in the car, the driver and two passengers were taken to Nobles Hospital for treatment, one is currently in the Intensive Treatment Unit.
The driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Senior Investigating Officer, Derek Flint has confirmed all next of kin have been informed, and over the coming days they will be working to establish precisely what happened.
As part of their investigations they want to know if anyone was driving on that road around the time of the collision, anyone with information can contact police headquarters on 631212.
The road will remain closed for further investigation, drivers and pedestrians should follow the diversions in place.
