It's cost the government around £15,000 to move University College Isle of Man's engineering facility across Douglas.
Responding to a Tynwald question for written reply from Douglas North MHK John Wannenburgh, Education Minister Daphne Caine said the site at Hills Meadows wasn't seeing much use.
The engineering department will instead move to the William Kennish campus at the end of this year, with any unneeded machinery sold or disposed of.
She adds the campus on Greenfield Road will offer greater capacity and support services for students.
