The Island's Fire Service spent 52 hours attending fires related to the Steam Railway this year, at the cost of over £11,000.
That's according to the Home Affairs Minister, who confirmed there were 33 separate fire incidents on, or next to, the railway line between Douglas and Port Erin.
Mrs Poole-Wilson added that each incident can't be definitively attributed to the railway, but was recorded as such when there was no other visible cause.
The Fire and Rescue Service and Isle of Man Transport continue to work together to 'reduce the impact and number of fires.'
