A Douglas man has been fined £1,000 after scrapping in the street with his daughter's estranged partner.
47-year-old Ian Richard Watson, of Keppel Road, started fighting with the man on Castlemona Avenue just after 3pm on August 25th.
Watson later admitted to affray - the court heard he'd been in the area with his daughter and grandchildren when the other man approached in his car.
A verbal and physical altercation ensued with members of the public stepping in to intervene and break up the argument.
At Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday Watson's advocate said emotions between the parties had been "running high" adding: "Unfortunately Mr Watson lost his head."
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered Watson to pay costs of £125 telling him: "Your behaviour was made worse because it was in the presence of your grandchildren."
