UNESCO Biosphere's Plastic Free Business Scheme has had nine businesses sign up since its launch in July.
The scheme, launched by the government, is being run by Beach Buddies, who are working with businesses to figure out how they're going to support it.
Businesses can register as either 'Supporting', by getting rid of single use plastics such as bags, plates, cutlery, straws, and polystyrene containers, or 'Plastic Free', by removing all unnecessary single use plastics from their daily activities.
They can then display stickers and certificates in their windows so that customers can see they are making eco-friendly decisions.
