The Island's Information Commissioner is launching a public consultation on plans to overhaul data protection registration fees for businesses and organisations.
A proposed tier system would see small firms pay £75, medium-sized businesses £150, and large companies £2,400, while charities would register for free - and public sector organisations pay £300,000 for their group.
The Commissioner's office says the changes are needed to make sure it has enough resources to meet its legal obligations, and isn't too reliant on government funding.
