Manx Telecom has been chosen as the government's National Broadband Plan partner.
The company has been awarded by the Department For Enterprise and will deliver ultrafast fibre broadband across the Island.
The £10 million contract will see MT responsible for the delivery in nine 'difficult to reach' zones across the Island.
The plan, will be completed within five years and deliver a new fibre network passing 99% of residential and business premises with speeds of up to 1Gb/s.
