The Treasury has collected more than £4 million more income tax than at this time last year.
The figures have been revealed in response to a freedom of information request about tax, rates and national insurance.
So far, the government's collected £82.7 million in tax, compared to £77.9 million this time last year.
But it also says arrears are up from £10.9 million last September to £12.1 million this year.
