FlexyStaff, the on-demand staffing app, has officially launched on the Isle of Man, giving local businesses a quicker way to cover shifts and giving Island workers more control over when and where they work.
If you’ve ever run a bar during a busy TT week and been short-staffed, tried to find a few extra pairs of hands for an event at the last minute, or faced the challenge of building your team ahead of the busy Christmas season, you’ll know how stressful finding reliable staff can be.
As businesses prepare for the seasonal Christmas rush, FlexyStaff is built to make finding extra help faster and easier. Whether you need additional people for a single busy shift, a Christmas party, a weekend of increased demand or additional support throughout the festive period, businesses across hospitality, events, retail, logistics and more can post shifts on the FlexyStaff app and connect with vetted, ready-to-work staff, often within hours, not days.
It means businesses can respond to demand as it happens, without having to permanently increase their workforce just to cover their busiest periods.
For workers, it flips the usual way of finding shift work on its head. Instead of chasing agencies or waiting by the phone, people can pick up shifts that suit their own schedule, whether that’s a student wanting a bit of extra cash, someone between jobs, or anyone who just fancies more flexibility than a traditional part-time role allows.
“We built FlexyStaff because we saw how much time and stress goes into last-minute staffing, on both sides,” said Paul Lewin, Co-founder and Operations Director of FlexyStaff. “Businesses here already deal with tight margins and a small labour pool, and workers want more say over their own time. This is about making that easier for everyone, right here on the Island where we’re based.”
FlexyStaff is currently growing in the northwest of England, and now the team wants to bring that same experience to everyday businesses across the Isle of Man, from the local pub needing extra bar staff on a Friday night, to a warehouse needing an extra pair of hands at short notice.
All workers on the platform go through identity verification and vetting before they can pick up shifts, so businesses can trust who’s turning up, and workers know the shifts they’re taking are legitimate.
FlexyStaff is available now to businesses and workers across the Isle of Man. To find out more, visit their website HERE
