Enterprise Minister, Laurence Skelly MHK, believes businesses should consider the benefits of working with local athletes.
His comments were in response to a question in the House of Keys this week from Arbory, Castletown & Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
Mr Moorhouse had asked what the DfE is doing to entice businesses into linking up with Manx sports players for the benefit of both.
However, Mr Skelly says his department can only encourage ideas and it's up to businesses themselves to back good causes.
