An Island organisation aiming to represent taxpayers on Island has welcomed the purchase of airline Stobart Air by a Manx business.
It was confirmed yesterday Ettyl, based in Douglas, has agreed to acquire Stobart Air as well as Carlisle Lake District Airport subject to approvals.
Michael Josem of the Manx TaxPayers Alliance says this deal has not cost taxpayers anything and will offer more local jobs and air connections.
He now believes government should consider removing Aircraft Passenger Duty as it would be a boost to families looking to reunite as well as tourism and hospitality industries after border restrictions are lifted.
