There are plans to build nearly 50 new apartments in the heart of Willaston.
Proposals have been put forward by Douglas Borough Council to create 48 properties across two buildings on the site of the former police station and methodist church on Snaefell Road.
In its application, the authority says the buildings would come with their own amenities such as recycling areas.
Officials add they'd all be designed to comply with government affordable housing standards and would benefit from being located near a local bus route as well as shops.
