Zack Hall and John Houghton removed from Department of Education

The Chief Minister Allan Bell has confirmed that MHK’s John Houghton and Zack Hall have been removed as members of the Department of Education and Children.

It follows their failure to support their Minister, Peter Karran over the recent controversial move to scrap government funded pre-school facilities.

Mr Bell said the decision has been made with immediate effect, taking into account the collective responsibility expected of Departmental Members.

The Council of Minister have agreed the appointments of MLC’s Tony Wild and Juan Turner to fill the vacant positions.
