Coastguards and Douglas lifeboat were called to help a group of youngsters stuck at Port Jack last night.
The Ruby Clery crew was alerted about three youngsters in the water shortly after 9.30pm last night.
Coastguard officers say the alarm turned out to be a false one - although made with good intent.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
