A yellow weather warning is set to come into force this afternoon, which could be upgraded to amber.
It comes as Storm Agnes is expected to hit the Island, causing severe gales of up to 70mph in the most exposed spots.
The Ronaldsway Met Office says there’s a risk of fallen trees and branches causing some disruption to travel, and a possibility of minor structural damage to buildings.
The warning will be in place from 2pm this afternoon through until midnight.
Residents are also asked to secure any property which might be affected by the wind, such as garden furniture, bins and trampolines.
