There is a yellow weather warning in place today (Monday) for severe gales.
The Isle of Man Met Office office said gusts of around 50 mph are likely in many places, possibly 60 mph in some.
The warning is in place until 14:00 when the winds are expected to ease "fairly quickly".
A spokesman said: "Whilst not unusual for autumn, some issues are expected mainly travel disruption and tree damage".
