The Met Office says waves and debris could wash onto roads tonight, in what could be the first of a series of warnings.
A yellow warning about coastal overtopping runs from 9pm until 2pm on Saturday for Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey Promenades.
High tides may also bring flood risks in Douglas and Castletown.
Forecasters say further warnings are likely to be issued over the weekend.
