Moves towards securing the underneath Bay View Road are well underway.
There was a landslide on Monday night with further mudslides on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The main road in and out of Port St Mary remains closed today and is expected to stay closed for some time.
Last night, the department of transport used the first concrete pouring to secure the site.
A further pour is planned for today in an attempt to fill the hole under the road.
DOT officials have said that good progress is being made towards the teams first target of underpinning the retaining wall before the arrival of heavy rain predicted for the weekend.
There is pedestrian access and local businesses are operating as normal.
