Works to reinstate the lower footpath within Glen Mooar will start this week.
The Department of Infrastructure says the project will see the renewal of the footpath and drainage improvements.
However, extreme erosion of the river banks means it's not possible to restore the path to its fullest length.
The works will take around six weeks to complete.
