Work permit rules for hospitality workers are being relaxed in a bid to boost the Island's workforce.
The Department of Economic Development has confirmed it's simplified the process to request exemptions for seasonal workers.
The department says due to our low unemployment rate, and increasing visitor numbers, the industry has been struggling to find the number of staff needed to sustain and grow business.
The new rules give flexibility to boost the workforce during peak periods with hopes it will then raise the quality of customer service on the Isle of Man.
The exemption will cover this year's summer season - from March 1st to October 31st - for genuine seasonal vacancies; it will not apply to zero hour contracts or casual or agency workers.
