Work Permit Exemptions to Come Into Play for New Years Day
A bill has been passed in Tynwald to approve the Control of Employment Order 2009.
It’s due to come into force on New Year’s Day with it meaning certain employments of a short term or intermittent nature are exempt from requiring work permits.
One of the main changes will be to increase the general exemption period where a permit is not required from 3 days to 10 working days a year.
It’s hoped with
this introduced it will make the Island an easier place to do business, reducing
the administrative burden on employers.
