A woman who drove to the shop while over the limit has been spared an immediate jail sentence.
Lisa Anne Verelst of The Meadows in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood at Douglas Courthouse.
The 52 year old pleaded guilty to drink-driving on October 12 last year.
A member of the public rang police after seeing her struggling to drive her BMW out of the car park at the Spar store in Anagh Coar shortly before 11am.
When police went to her home, she appeared drunk - and at police headquarters she turned out to be more than three times over the drink-drive limit.
Her advocate told the hearing the businesswoman had turned to drink after suffering a series of bereavements and was genuinely remorseful and ashamed of her actions.
Mrs Braidwood jailed her for 10 weeks, suspended for two years, banned her from driving for five years and ordered her to pay £125 costs.
