A woman who was paid by TT visitors for festival accommodation she didn't provide has avoided going to jail.
46 year old Kathryn Kelly of Drury Terrace in Douglas admitted theft when she appeared before magistrates.
The hearing at Douglas Courthouse was told she'd taken £700 in deposits from two UK men who wanted to rent her flat during TT 2018.
But when they arrived on the Island, they had to find somewhere else to stay as Kelly couldn't be contacted.
Magistrates described it as a mean crime, saying Kelly had previous dishonesty convictions and they'd considered sending her straight to prison.
They imposed a three month prison term, suspended for a year, but didn't order her to pay costs or compensation after being told she was on an extremely low income.
