A Liverpool woman will be sentenced in the Court of General Gaol Delivery after admitting trying to smuggle more than £90,000 off the Island in a hidden compartment in her car.
Sheila May Starkey of Mark Street in Everton appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
The 36 year old pleaded guilty to attempting to remove criminal property at the Sea Terminal on March 22.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing Starkey was stopped by police and customs as she was about to get on the ferry in her VW CC.
Inside, a search dog discovered a secret compartment in the central console of the car and inside was 10 bundles of cash.
In total, officers found £92,610.
Mr Brooks said the case was too serious to be heard by a summary court, and committed Starkey to be sentenced in the higher court.
He remanded her in custody until her next appearance on May 13.
