A woman who spent two hours drinking with friends before getting behind the wheel of her Range Rover has been banned from the roads.
Ann Roberts of Knock Rushen in Castletown appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 67 year old admitted drink-driving outside the Albert Hotel on Athol Street in Port St Mary on April 16.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing Roberts had been in the pub from 3.45pm and left at 5.45pm, when staff noticed she was drunk.
Minutes later, she struggled to park on the pavement outside the pub before going back in - she handed her car keys over to staff after they challenged her about driving.
Police arrived and arrested her, and blood tests later showed she was over the legal limit.
Magistrates told her she would learn a very expensive lesson as they imposed a one-year driving ban and £750 fine.
She was also ordered to pay £125 costs.
