A Douglas woman who thought her commercial vehicle insurance covered her personal car has been fined.
Aisha Howard of Bucks Road admitted having no insurance when she appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Richard Butters said the 32 year old came to the attention of police after officers spotted her stalling her Nissan Micra on Waterloo Road in Ramsey shortly after 2.30am on November 24 last year.
Her advocate told the court she'd thought her commercial policy would cover her to drive her car, but had been mistaken.
Magistrates fined her £400 and ordered her to pay £50 prosecution costs, as well as putting six penalty points on her licence.
