A woman with a string of motoring convictions has been fined for having no tax and failing to change her vehicle’s ownership details.
Leah Elizabeth Stokes of Berrywoods Grove in Douglas admitted both charges through a coroner’s admission before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 30 year old was stopped by police on July 27 last year on Braddan Road in Douglas, and officers discovered her blue VW Golf was untaxed.
She told offices she’d bought the vehicle hours earlier, but months later she was reported when she still hadn’t taxed the car.
After hearing she had previous convictions for having no tax, using a mobile phone behind the wheel, having no insurance and failing to stop at a pedestrian crossing, magistrates fined her a total of £320 and ordered her to pay £100 costs.
