A woman caught using her mobile phone while driving has been fined after police also discovered she hadn’t swapped her UK licence for a Manx one.
Leanne Catherine Stacey of Robert Stephen Close in Douglas admitted the offences in a coroner’s admission before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing police on patrol spotted the 31 year old using her mobile at the wheel of her white BMW X1 on Derby Road in the capital on September 30.
The court heard although Stacey had moved to the Isle of Man four years ago, she hadn’t changed her licence over – she told officers she didn’t know she had to.
Mrs Hughes fined her a total of £400 and ordered her to pay £50 costs – also putting four penalty points on her driving licence.
