UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man has selected the winners of its Young Nature Writer competition.
It challenged young people aged 21 and under to write up to 500 words about nature and how it makes them feel.
Sophie Wood, aged eight, was crowned the winner after writing 'knowledgeably' about her garden and the wildlife that visits it.
She was presented with a trophy hand made from local wood, a year's family membership of Manx Wildlife Trust and a goody bag.
