Severe Weather Warnings in Place
The Isle of Man has been put on high alert over the next 36 hours with
severe weather warnings in place.
The Steam Packet are advising their customers that there are
likely to be disruptions to their service tomorrow with severe gale to storm
force conditions forecast throughout the day.
Householders are being warned to make sure all outside items
that could blow away are tied down; there is also the possibility of the high
winds causing unavoidable structural damage.
Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution when travelling to work early in the morning, as its expected there will be standing water on the roads.
Met Office Forecaster David Baltby said winds are expected to reach 80mph by mid afternoon tomorrow, with
upto 20 millimetres of rain overnight forecast likely to cause localised flooding.
