The Health Minister will be asked today if he is planning to make any cutbacks in the health service.
In this morning’s House of Keys sitting David Anderson will be asked to announce if he is expecting his department to make cuts.
The question has been tabled by Douglas East MHK Brenda Cannell who also wants to know if there will be any changes to prescription charges or criteria.
The issue of possible changes to prescriptions was raised by Dudley Butt, the political member for health, following the recent Budget.
Despite a three per cent net increase Mr Butt said the department had to take into account people’s ability to pay and that as a result the department was looking into eligibility criteria for prescriptions.
