Douglas Council bosses will ask police for help funding an expansion to the capital's CCTV system.
At the last meeting of the local authority's executive committee, members discussed fitting more cameras around the city centre.
They wanted to know if such a move could be paid for out of the police Seized Asset Fund, which takes money earned from crime out of the hands of criminals.
Councillors voted to ask for a meeting with police about the issue.
