Twenty-three prescriptions for weight loss drugs have been issued on the island in the past year.
Health minister Claire Christian explained some of these drugs can also be used to treat type two diabetes.
However, the figure quoted was for Wegovy and Saxenda, which she said were licensed specifically losing weight.
She stressed that the medications are only available privately:
