'We'll aim to help animals in need during lockdown'

The ManxSPCA says it will look to help animals in need during the current lockdown, where restrictions allow them to do so.

The organisation says whilst it's most commonly associated with dogs and cats, it works closely with other charities and government departments to achieve the best outcomes for animals across the Island whether they be classed as companion, commercial or wild.

The team there says it's following all the required safety protocols at this time and among its advice at this time of year they're giving a seasonal reminder to dog owners on Manx shores.

MSPCA says the recent icy weather means many roads and paths are covered in rock salt - residents are being told to avoid walking their canines in these areas if possible as the salt can burn dogs paws, and if you have to walk them in these areas to keep it to a minimum and wash your dog's feet when you get home.
