Weather wreaks havoc across Island

Adverse weather conditions are disrupting travel across the Island today.

With a yellow and amber weather warning currently in place, flights, sailings and roads have been affected.

Arrivals and departures to Dublin, Manchester and Liverpool have been cancelled, whereas, Ben-My-Chree Sailings to and from Heysham have been called off.

Tonight's 7.45pm crossing to Heysham will now depart at 9pm, however it's 2.15am return journey is expected to run as scheduled.

With gusts of up to 60mph today several roads around the Island have been closed - Douglas prom from Port Jack to Empress drive has been closed until 6pm due to coastal overtopping, as well as from Kind Edward Road in Onchan to Port Jack.

In the south of the Island The George Lane in Castletown is currently closed until 12pm tomorrow due to falling slates.

Shore Road in Gansey is also off limits until 6pm - buses are being diverted through Ballabeg and Colby until further notice.

West Quay in Ramsey is also closed between Christian Street and West Street (to vehicles and pedestrians) whilst some hoardings are made safe.

Ramsey Town Commissioners are currently implementing an emergency road closure  between the junctions of West Street and Christian Street due to flying debris. They're advising the public to avoid the area.

This evening's Parish Walk progression session at the NSC (6pm - 7.30pm) has also been cancelled due to the adverse weather.

A section of Hill Street in Douglas (in front of Bar George) is shut until tomorrow because of loose slates.
