A bonfire to celebrate the launch of Isle of Culture 2014 will be set ablaze on Sunday regardless of the weather.
Planned by the Peel Town Commissioners and Vikings of Mann, the lighting of a ‘torch’ on Peel Beach will still go ahead as planned at 5pm on Sunday.
Lit by the chairman of Peel Town Commissioners, it is said to celebrate the start of the year of culture and old Manx Christmas Eve.
The procession will assemble by 4.45pm at The Mill Yard behind Moore’s Kipper Yard, and will proceed along East Quay to Peel Beach.
People are being asked to wrap up warmly for the occasion.
