The constabulary says the recent weapon surrender programme has been a big success.
52 firearms, 520 rounds of ammunition and 80 bladed weapons were handed into authorities during the initiative between July 20 and last Sunday (August 2).
Neil Craig, who oversees the Police operation response, says it's a 'meaningful step forward' in reducing potential harm among communities.
He's added officers will now continue to track down and remove any weapons which may still be in circulation.
