The Manx Utilities Authority won't bring in water meters because they'd be too expensive to install.
That's the message from the chairman Dr Alex Allinson who's been questioned about a 6.4 per cent hike in water rates this year.
In the House of Keys he faced questions from MHKs who wanted to know why an across-the-board increase was being brought in.
Dr Allinson said a report in 2015 had looked at water meters but decided against them:
