The executive of the water board has said that extensive investigation are underway to see what caused the landslide in Port St Mary.
Families were forced out of their homes on Monday night when the land gave way.
The water is back on in the area, but only on a temporary supply as the mains have had to be cut off to prevent any further damage.
Bay View Road is expected to remain closed for at least a week.
Buses will be terminating at Port St Mary school.
Chief exec of the water board John Smith says the road is in a dangerous condition and more work needs to be done to find out what exactly caused the landslide. (audio)
