The Secretary for the Manx Electric Railway Society has accused the Department of Infrastructure of not maintaining brakes on the Snaefell Mountain Railway.
On Monday, the DOI said services have been suspended indefinitely, after an investigation following an incident earlier this year where a tram rolld down the mountain with passengers on board.
MER Society Secretary Julian Nutter says the suspension of services ''had to happen'' because of serious safety issues.
