The ManxSPCA is reminding pet owners this Christmas about potential dangers to animals.
The charity says certain festive plants such as holly, mistletoe berries and pine needles can cause problems if eaten, with ivy causing irritation to skin.
Decorations such as tinsel and baubles can break in an animal's mouth and cause damage, and it's recommended not to keep chocolate underneath the tree as it's toxic to dogs.
The charity said if you suspect your pet has eaten something harmful then you should seek emergency advice from your vet.
