Ward 20 Shut to New Admissions Following Gastroenteritis Outbreak
An outbreak of viral gastroenteritis, most possibly caused by Norovirus has affected seven patients and two members of staff on Ward 20 at Nobles Hospital.
As a consequence the ward has now been closed to any new admissions.
Children are now not allowed to visit ward 20 until the outbreak is over.
If you think you have symptoms of vomiting and/or diarrhoea do not attend A&E or the minor injuries unit, you’re asked to contact your doctor by telephone.
You should also wait two days after the symptoms have ceased before you return to work or school.
