A motion at last night’s Ramsey Commissioners meeting to merge the voting wards into one has been passed
Commissioner Ffinlo Williams believes there is an unequal voting split in the town for local authority elections, which favours the north ward due to its bigger population.
Previous concerns were raised about the costs being doubled and for shrinking the board.
Mr Williams says the next step is for the Department of Infrastructure to support the decision.
