Local residents have voted in favour of the former Castletown police station being preserved and accessible to the public.
It comes following a public consultation on the future of the Baille Scott-designed building.
More than 400 people responded to the survey, with every respondent feeling it was important to preserve the building.
97 per cent were in favour of public access being maintained, and 83 per cent felt the preservation should be publicly-funded.
The possibility of it being put to some sort of commercial use saw a mixed response - with 40 per cent supporting it and 38 per cent opposing it.
The future of the former Police Station will be considered by MNH trustees when they next meet.
