A section of Castletown Promenade has been closed off today after a void appeared under one of the footpaths.
The Department of Infrastructure has shut a small section of the pathway there, saying the void has been caused by fines behind the sea wall being washed away by waves.
Structural engineers are now assessing the area to find out the extent of the damage.
Officials add, following this, work to start a permanent repair will get underway.
