The Chief Executive of the Department of Infrastructure says a deal to appoint a new TT promoter didn't take into account how much the event costs.
Nick Black was giving evidence to the Economic Policy Review Committee this morning about the Vision nine deal, which collapsed last year seven months after Tynwald approved it.
Mr Black says nobody had worked out the true cost of hosting the event, and so it was impossible to say if the government would make any money by outsourcing the TT and Classic TT.
He said with tens of thousands of extra visitors promised by Vision Nine, nobody asked him how much extra that would cost in government services:
